Why Radar Sensors Work Better in Dust and Rain

In the mining and cement industries, dust is constant. In the monsoon regions of India, rain can be torrential. In these environments, vision-based systems like standard cameras or LIDAR can struggle to see.

Radar (Radio Detection and Ranging) uses electromagnetic waves that pass straight through dust particles and raindrops. While light waves from a camera are scattered by these particles, radar waves bounce off solid objects and return to the sensor with 99% accuracy.

This makes Radar Proximity Warning Systems (PWAS) the only choice for "Primary Safety" in heavy industries. Whether it's a desert sandstorm in Saudi Arabia or a dusty quarry in India, our radar systems provide consistent, non-stop protection.

Tech Graylogix uses FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar technology, which allows for extremely precise distance measurement. This means we can set "Warning" and "Critical" zones within centimeters of accuracy, even in a total blackout of dust or fog.
